OG Jellies Rap

 

On Friday, STUR headed east and crossed THE bridge over the bay
Thankfully the rain stopped right before she got there - it was cray-cray!

She and KBun scoped out the IMMD course
And checked out the jellyfish action. Could they be any worse?

KBun tested out her wetsuit in the lovely Hyatt pool -
STUR joined her there - she's no fool!!

She also got in her bike shake out ride
Ready for Ironman Maryland - no surprise! 

Then Saturday PBun hit the road way-way-way before the crack
Headed to meet the OG rabbits, it's not whack!

Cruising along she got a little surprise
Pulled over with a speed warning, oh my!!
Arrived just in time to go to the race site together
With KBun's sister handling logistics, it couldn't be better!

 

The girls walked with KBun all the way up until she plunged in the Choptank -
She breezed through those jellyfish just fine, lots of swim training to thank!

 

The Sherpa girls were so happy to see KBun not once but twice on the bike -
Thanks to PBun’s superb knowledge of the course - so psyched!

Other athletes seemed to appreciate them, too
But they soon departed for some brunch then a little snooze

Getting back to Gerry Boyle Park was a bit of a fiasco
So they missed KBun at T2, wouldn't you know?
The hotel shuttle was way late for the 4pm stop
It couldn't have gotten there soon enough, chop-chop!!
They hung out on the course where the runners would pass through
And finally saw their KBun on her first loop

The counterfeit rabbit ignored them - yes it’s true!
Clearly she’ll never be a part of our crew.
It was time to go pick up KBun's gear bags and bike
So they made a run to drop it all at the hotel if you like
Returned back to the park and sister rabbit scored a primo parking spot
And then cheered folks to the finish which rocked

The Sherpa girls spent some time at the chaos corner-
Do you cheer loudly or are you quiet? Definitely the former!!
It was finally time for KBun to hit the finish line carpet
They were waiting to greet her, it was perfect!

KBun had an awesome finish!

Appreciating the scenery!

A bunny sighting is always a good sign!

Pine Creek Patriots Rap

To celebrate Stilt's 50th trip around the sun -
She and PBun decided to run 50 miles for fun!
Stilt's training plan went the traditional route...
While PBun trained for a 70.3 if you want the scoop
Would their varying plans get them to the finish?
You'll need to read along to see what they accomplished!
Four rabbits hit up the Pine Creek Challenge Ultra race 
You might remember they did the 100 mile relay as a team in this case
STUR and CBun were in for some marathon miles
And CBun wanted to go 5 extra for fun - no surprise
Stilt and PBun moseyed up to the start area
Didn't have to wait long to start their ultra

As expected, it was a laid back affair...
Took off on the trail to lots of cheers!
On the way to the turn around, Stilt pointed out
The place where she went down last year no doubt

There was also an actual bunny sighting
Tried to get a picture but it was not happening!  
STUR was reminded that it’s a good idea to train -
Or parts of your body will be in pain!
The turn around point for the marathon was very vague -
Good thing none of the racers went into a rage!

On the way back they expected to run into CBun and STUR
But did they ever see them? No sir!!
Turns out the marathon started in a different direction
And they did catch up with them around mile 20 - perfection 

They continued on and regrouped at mile 30
Where an extended rest break was to be had - what's the hurry?

They then joined up with an interesting man who was running the 100K
At 71 years old he had only been running for 20 years - no way!
Turns out he has completed the World Marathon Challenge
They don't think they want to take THAT plunge!
STUR finally received a medal after a long time - hooray!
And settled down to wait for CBun to finish her 50K.

Went to a nice Italian restaurant to rest and recoup
All the while thinking about the rest of their bunny group!

Next they arrived at the finish line to wait in CBun’s car...
Was so thrilled to get a text from PBun saying that they weren’t too far!
Meanwhile the miles slowly ticked away - they did not protest
And looked forward to each aid station so they could rest

Before long it started to get dark, all right?
Thank goodness for headlamps and swag bag flashlights
Other runners seemed to appreciate the rabbit ears
This made them smile and there were no tears!
They must admit by miles 45 they felt done
But still had 5 more miles and there was no more sun

So happy to see their rabbit friends just before the finish line
And the photos they took were just divine!
They still can't believe they conquered that distance
Never say never, says PBun with insistence!!

Meanwhile, Morgan and the Beast were busy earning lots of bling
By doubling up on the Patriots races and podiuming!

KBun was getting in a last long run and ride
Before she tackles IMMD this weekend in stride
Two days later the Pine Creek peeps were comparing notes
About all of the mosquito bites they got – no joke!

August Wrap Up Rap

Friday night, STUR, PBun, and Jeff visited EPSC
There was a swim only for adults - woo wee!
It had been rescheduled from two weeks before...
Mother Nature was to blame, oh brother
She apparently didn't want the adults to have their fun
And dropped more rain, thunder, and lightning, son of a gun
Saturday PBun mixed up her day some
And did her bike ride on Zwift at 3pm
After a nice family function to celebrate her aunt
It is always good to see family you can bet.
Meanwhile KBun and the Beast hit up the new Long Bridge pool
The report from KBun is that it was pretty cool!
PBun started her Sunday with some normal fun
Over at South Lakes High School for the 10k run
It was nice to have a bit of normal back
With a real in person race - how about that?
It was a but sticky out, but that's okay...
She would knock those 10 kilometers out anyway
On Sunrise Valley Drive there were scores of dead frogs
It would seem that something in their world had gone wrong!

Ran into the Roustance runner before and after the event
After half marathons in all 50 states and DC he's world famous you can bet
As PBun approached the finish line she had a little wardrobe malfunction
A breeze blew her ears off but she managed to grab them!! 

North and Long Rap

Sunday morning well before the sun dawned
PBun took KBun and the Beast for a drive - they may have yawned
Up the highway to a cute town in M-D
Called North East and it was at the top of the Chesapeake
They were there for some aquabike and triathlon fun
And Laura joined them there along with her mum!
While PBun had stepped away from the rack
A racer squeezed between her and KBun as a matter of fact
PBun briefly returned and to her surprise
There stood Jocelyn the WongStar - oh my!! 

A quick selfie then PBun headed off for the Oly aquabike race
The WongStar was doing the Sprint tri in this case!
PBun had a really nice swim - the water was fabulous
Jump off the dock to start and climb up a ladder to finish - no fuss!
Laura and KBun were also doing the Oly distance - aquabike and tri
Though the three of them might have second guessed this decision. Wonder why?
The Beast would later be lining up for the Sprint
Winning the aquabike was her mission you can bet!
She had to chase down an all American swimmer
And in the end the Beast was the victor!
Not only that, she beat out all the men, too
That's pretty kick ass if you want the truth
So the bike course was a pretty challenging route
And the Olympic doubled the Sprint miles - that's the basic scoop
PBun would tell you she chose poorly
But in the end with her result she was happy
It had also started to rain - coming down hard by the end of the Oly bike
And the main post race food never showed up - so no pizza even if you like
Sadly the rabbits didn't take a group photo
As with rapping, they must be out of practice, you know?

But here is KBun finishing up the Oly tri
Along with the cute little ducks waddling on by!
STUR and friends including the Beast checked out the new Long Bridge Aquatic Center -
Looking forward to seeing the pool in all its splendor!

After a nice long swim in short course yards -
A stint in the hot tub was in the cards!!

March 2021 Rap-Up

Team Rabbit took a little break from our raps every week
Maybe a monthly schedule for a while...we shall see!
At the end of February, PBun joined in for the TriDot group Zwift
Had a new video setup ready too, don't be miffed
Was excited to be out there with John Mayfield and E-Jay
It was her first time with the group, by the way!
Maybe PBun jinxed herself as she had a technical issue about 30 minutes in
Seems the rear skewer had loosened a little bit
It seemed wise to stop and tighten things down
Otherwise she might have wobbled off her KICKR on to the ground
She knew their faithful organizer was having problems as well
But his coordination of these rides is always swell
While on her way up the volcano she saw the group coming down
It was something that took away her frown

But by then she was done with the hard stuff and in Z2
Finishing strong was all she had to do!
STUR’s Saturday partner workout had some awesome elements...
Although keeping track of the running, burpees, and DB to shoulder tested her intelligence!

PBun had Open envy over the past few years
When she went to spectate and give STUR some cheers
This year she finally took the plunge
And joined STUR in the challenge!
Last month they both conquered Open 2021
It was tough of course, but in the end it was fun
During the CrossFit Open, PBun and STUR had a pull up fest -
Were there 30 between the two of them? Ah YES!
Both STUR and PBun had to conquer the dumbbell and the box -
Having someone to cheer for you always ROCKS!

This past weekend is the one Team Rabbit likes a lot
Because the Easter Bunny takes the number one spot!

Easter bitmoji had them laughing about something from back in the day
Do bunnies really poop chocolate eggs? You don't say!!

Virtual Valentine Rap

PBun lined up with TriDot-ers to ride the Serpentine 8 on mountain bikes
There were a few roadies, including one Tron bike - yikes!

She was thrilled to be part of the main pack
And stayed there for the entire ride as a matter of fact
At one point she was even in the lead
No virtual dirt in her face, would you believe?
Brian told them to ride like you just punched a bear in his 'pee pee'
But Chewie was worried about giving birth to something he didn't want to see!!
Vanessa was on board for a video recap
And there was something about caffeine, which today she didn't lack
One person had on pink because Valentine's Day
But most were in the official Zwift TriDot kit - yay!

The bridge was rickety and riders should have gone one at a time
Thankfully it held for all the TriDot-ers...this time!
Question of the day: do you put tape on aero bars?
Absolutely, but this doesn't matter to your avatars!
Krista, who is Canadian, considered using hockey tape for comfort and grip
But just standard bar tape will do the trick
As always, the meet-up was fun and well planned out
Looking forward to the next, without a doubt!
It’s Valentine’s Day! So what does that mean?
Hearts, love, and candy or so it does seem.
Hallmark instructs us to get cards for our sweetie…
Or whisk them off on a trip to Tahiti!
But ladies let’s all get a little bit real -
Society can’t tell us how we’re supposed to feel!
How can we cram all this love into one single day?
Like choosing one item at a chocolate buffet!
Let’s spread friendship and fellowship evenly throughout the year -
With a heavy dose of endorphins sprinkled in - never fear!
To a bad ass group of really strong women STUR made a toast-
“So many muscles, so little time” we can boast!
It was icy Sunday morning on Valentine's Day
It would be a bad idea for an outdoor 5k

So PBun hopped on her treadmill to get it done
And also earned another RNR badge for fun

On Saturday the Beast climbed Zwiftly to the radio tower
And wouldn't you know a goat was there to greet her! 

CBun and HRab were hiking the Appalachian Trail in P-A
Seems like a great way to celebrate hearts day!! 

STUR spent Sunday spinning her legs at the box -
A heart partner workout featuring dumbbells definitely rocks!
Then she splashed around for a noon time swim
Featuring 10 x 100 IM - she went out on a limb!

Super Snowy Rap

On Friday PBun started her day with time trials at swim
A 400 and  200 freestyle for the win!
During the 400 her left goggle filled with water..
She toughed it out like Phelps in Beijing - no bother!
On Saturday morning, STUR did a partner WOD: “Cindy full of Grace!”
All that was needed was a pull-up bar and barbell and not much space!
Getting ready for “Murph” she ran with a group who did a mile first -
Then she ran a mile after - all in one burst!
Meanwhile, PBun had her usual virtual group spin...
She thinks suffering with other TriDot-ers is not a sin!
Right from the start her workout was pretty ugly
The power zones had to be dialed down you see
She was just happy to be able to complete the entire time
Finishing an hour fifty barely in Z2 isn't a crime!
But apparently she double PRd and earned a new kit
And as bad as it was, she level up and got her most 'Ride Ons' yet!

On Superbowl Sunday, PBun went for a run in the wintry mix
Thankfully the roads weren't too slick!
At one point the snow was really coming down
PBun is happy to report she stayed upright on the ground 

Even though it was another yucko wet day,
STUR made it again for a long course swim then got some wall balls out of the way!
