Rabbit-isms!

There's always room for another race!
That's a horrible idea... What time?!

Rain and Rumble Rap

Saturday morning STEB went for a ride with RBug
A 16 mile loop then time for a selfie mug!
Post-Ride Ice Coffee - check!
Meanwhile, STUR showed up at the pool on Saturday morning with some pals -
The Beast and Jodie happened to be the two gals!
In the beginning the Beast helped them with swim form...
Then they got in 3500 meters - about the norm!

STEB followed her ride with an afternoon of rest -
Then dinner and a concert, it's the best!
RBug picked STEB up around five...
Headed to Due South, no jive!
They were the first of the group to show up
Got seated right away, and had a little pick me up
The food at Due South was fab!

Little by little the everyone else did appear
Then there were lots of apps to go around, never fear!
Dinner was ordered and they all watched the storm
Would the concert go on? They really weren't sure!
Followed social media to keep up with the situation
Then got the word from the Twitter nation:
It was still raining, but the thunder and lightning had passed!

Heather the group organizer had thought ahead...
Ponchos for the whole group? You bet!
Ponchos - check!
It was a short walk over to Nationals Park
They heard Billy Joel playing, it was already dark
He had a sense of humor as he did Singing in the Rain
Heard while they were getting to their seats, which was kind of insane!
Section 135 was their location - over by right field
Billy was set up in the back of the outfield!
Kick @$$ seats - thanks Heather and Terlato Wines!

The sweet seats were behind Billy's Number 1 fan...
He was very entertaining to watch, man!
Billy played a great set then took a minute break
And came back to play several more songs, for heaven's sake!

This was amazing!!
And 41,000 strong singing Piano Man was quite a sight
STEB was so happy to see the show, even though it was a long night!
STUR left her bed super early as Sunday dawned -
She stepped out into the humid day and yawned.
Drove up to Germantown in what felt like a flash!
She  was ready  for her 13.1 mile "dash!"
Let's Get Ready to Rumble!

Got there early enough to get her number and do a one mile warm up-
They were giving out Gatorade so she got a cup.
Next up was the dreaded porta potty line-
But she didn't have to wait- got there in time.
Flew in and put her keys in a corner/
"Not the best idea" to herself she did murmur.
Yep! She was right as those keys sunk down in a hole-
If it had been a soccer game- she could have shouted "GOAL!"
Panicked a tad and ran out to the back-
Hope nobody thought she was being attacked!
So many nice people did come to STUR's aid -
At this point her day was totally made!
Turns out a coat hanger got the keys out lickety split -
Good thing since the race was starting in a little bit.
You would think losing your keys would make someone bitter -
But it's actually funny since they fell near the sh!tter.

Before she knew it the race was underway-
Ran into an IMLP 2016 finisher who had come to play!
The first 10k she stayed with a big pack -
Listening to all their conversations was kind of whack!
After this she decided to add in some walk breaks for the rest -
It makes her feel stronger she does attest!
STUR was appreciating the scenery!

Next up at the mile 8.42 (exactly) turnaround there were Popsicles!
So yummy and full of electrolytes STUR will chronicle.
The last four miles are full of HILLS -
Good thing that running isn't paying the bills!
Slowed down a lot but finished feeling good...
Then sat down on a bench  because she could!
Riley's Rumble - check!

Headed out but made one stop first:
Time for a Slurpee to quench her thirst!
Sunday morning STEB really slept in,
With two naps during the day for the win!
She got out to visit her dad for his birthday
It's always something to be at ANC, you see.
Arlington National Cemetery is always so peaceful.

She did not get her run in, that's a fact -
But did do her 71 burpees how about that?
