Down Under Rap - Part 2

Next day a run by the Opera House for SRab and a wander in the botanical gardens for Tim -
Then breakfast by the water on a whim!
Ferry to Manley Beach was on our bucket list.
More beautiful views of the Sydney harbor if you insist!
Once at the beach caught both a surfing and a skateboard competition.
Then found some yummy ice cream for which we were wishing!
Took a walk over the Sydney Harbor Bridge -
Believe it or not for Tim the pilot it took some courage!
But he did it and we walked 8 miles total for the day-
24 more hours  in Sydney- to that we say "hooray!"
On Friday took a bus to the famous Bondi Beach
Cameras filming "Bondi Beach Rescue" were within our reach!
Took a gorgeous 5k walk from Bondi Beach to Bronte;
Beautiful vistas of the Pacific we would see!
Swim in a 50 meter pool right on the ocean?
No way I would skip it - THAT'S for certain!

Amazing 50-Meter Pool by the Ocean!

Even though I knew the water was cold,
When I saw the pool's beauty I was completely sold!
Back to Sydney and time for a drink...
The bar at the Opera House is the place, don't you think?!
So fun to people watch at their Valentine's Day happy hour.
More than one person had gotten a flower!
Last morning in Sydney and I visited a gym;
On Saturday morning it was filled to the brim!
Head back to the airport to fly back up to Queensland.
To spend six more nights in Brisbane - isn't that grand?
Our apartment hotel on the South Bank had great views of the city center -
Three minute run and you're by the river - what a winner!
On Sunday we had a most laid back day:
An outdoor concert by the river - you don't say?
Yes, Karen organized some of her friends for "Sunday session on the green"
With drinks and food it was the place to be seen!

Down Under Rap - Part 1

Twenty-one hours of flying?  It's really no fuss!
Good thing that it's not, since you can't take a bus!
Our Virgin  Australia 777 Jet was the biggest I've seen-
Makes for little turbulence so I didn't turn green!
My wonderful Aussie friend Karen picked us up at the airport-
During our whole time in Oz she was such a good sport!
Dropped our bags at Karen's cool Aussie home,
And into Brisbane's city center we did roam!
Tim bought a National Rugby League shirt -
They won't play the Vikings so what does it hurt!?
Can you believe it? The team he picked is called the RABBIT Oh's!?
He was drawn to the cute bunny on it I suppose!
We later fell asleep pretty much sitting up-
Good thing neither of us was holding a cup!
Popped up the next morning for a drive to Coolengatto on the Gold Coast-
Where my favorite movie "Muriel's Wedding" was filmed - it can boast!
Toured the site of  many scenes in the movie for a bit
Shouted in delight, "Goodbye, Porpoise Spit!"
Before I go any further I have to mention all the interesting Australian birds-
They make sounds that in the US we have never heard!
One particular prevalent bird was the Australian White Ibis-
Many Aussies consider their presence to be quite a pest!
Got my first swim in the lovely Pacific-
The sand, waves, and water temperature were certainly terrific!
After dinner and a happy hour SRab felt something wasn't quite right/
Being sick while here would certainly be a fright-
Sick indeed she was and visited the "chemist" for medication-
She would only be afflicted for about a day during this vacation!
Spent the night in a wonderful condo by the ocean side-
No beach I have ever seen quite compares - I won't lie!
Went for a drive to Kunugra - it's in the countryside.
"We should play the lottery!" - my hubby Tim cried!
We did and won $12 dollars exactly -
Spent it on gifts for our friends very happily!
Got the wonderful chance to meet Karen's sweet Mum and Dad;
So neat to see her childhood home - we were glad!
Seems we still had a bit of the "lag"-
Slept another 12 hours I ain't gonna brag!
Next up was a 4 day excursion to Sydney the "City of Brides!"
To get there would take just a short airplane ride!
Still tired (sick?) once we arrived, so a nap was the plan.
Then out into the streets of Sydney we ran!
Our first sighting of the Sydney Opera House took our breath away-
Then around it and on its steps we did play!

Betty and SRab - Down Under!
Had dinner and our waitress was from Minnesota - a Vikings fan!
She was glad to live where all year you can get a tan!

Stay tuned for Part 2 of SRab's Down Under Rap!

Love Rox Rap 2

Team Rabbit went down to Richmond to do Love Rox again-
And we even ran into some of their friends!
A photo op before we got started – it’s all the rage
We even made it onto the race Facbook page!

Thanks, Love Rox!
The weather was quite different from last year
No snow, sleet, or freezing rain pelted our ears!
EBun did the 10k, SRab did the half;
Through a tight  hammy and jet lag we both had to laugh!
So the half got started on the dot at 10:00 -
Right after a nice version of the National Anthem!
The 10k then started at 10:15...
Walk 4 blocks to the start - what do you mean?!
Parts of the course were the same as before -
No stairs or really steep brick downhill - SCORE!!
At the outdoor finish area there was some fun food -
Chips Ahoy cookies put EBun in a good mood!
We caught up with our friends back at Exhibit Hall D
They were going to the wine festival as we were headed to leave.
As always it was fun to do a race as a Rabbit
Richmond Multisports helped make it a habit!

Lone Rabbit Rap

It was all quiet on the Team Rabbit home front, it's true.
So what was a lone bunny to do?
To be sure a little activity was done -
And there was even a little time for fun!
Saturday morn brought an awesome indoor spin;
Coach Melissa's group was at it again!
Door prizes were handed out? You don't say!
That was a great way to pass the time away.
But you had to know the answers or win a challenge while standing
EBun skipped that part due to a little hamstring cramping!
Saturday afternoon brought a little fun in the snow
Red sugar snowballs show up better when they're thrown!
Sunday the day was a little more relaxed
An easy treadmill session didn't leave EBun taxed
There was also coffee and annual plan discussion
Getting talked off the FOMO ledge about a certain run!
Stay tuned for more updates from Team Rabbit
SRab will have the most AUsome blog post yet!
Red Sugar Snowballs!

Run Your Heart Out Rap

The weekend was full of swim bike run.
And even in that order - how fun!
Started off Saturday at Audrey Moore;
The swim included speed work and was not a bore!
Later on it was time for a Z2 bike spin;
In the garage it was chilly but put a movie in!
Then on Sunday morning - not too early - but it was bright,
Run a couple miles before the 5k? Didn't quite seem right!
The Run Your Heart Out race was actually pretty cool!

Met up with Kim before and after who was running for a PR.
Her brother paced her along the way and she was a rock star!
Got to start and finish on the track of South Lakes High School!
The course went out and back on a paved trail with a loop
EBun had run back there before so she knew the scoop!

A chance meeting with P-Diddles made EBuns's day.
She spotted her Valentine head boppers and knew her right away!
Sadly EBun got a little niggle in her hammy and glute, what a drag...
But a trip to Caribou Coffee afterwards sure made EBun glad!

This =PR= race was a lot of fun and with a holiday theme to boot
Any chance to dress up makes any race a hoot!

Ultra Training Rap

The Rabbits got in some runs before watching football -
Any workouts we do is always a good call!
EBun took her pup to run around Accotink Lake.
There were some icy patches so at times we had to put on the brakes!
Managed to stay upright so that was good news...
Though Riley had no trouble with that as she has claws for shoes!
And SRab ran 8 on her own and with the dog a respectable 3 -

Can Lakes 50 miler (and K) training has begun you see!
