Rabbit-isms!

There's always room for another race!
That's a horrible idea... What time?!

Easter Rap 2019 Edition

Saturday morning STUR met the Beast and Fernando at the Chinquapin pool -
It was so quiet, no swim lessons going on-very cool!
The Beast was adamant the group practice butterfly -
Lots and lots of practice and drills - oh my!
They survived all the butterfly!

Then STUR scooted off to do a CrossFit partner WOD -
Among other things there were 72 pull-ups each- good gawd!!
Next she and JRab got dressed up and went out to eat.
L'Auberge Chez Francois is always a treat
PBun had a two and a half hour trainer ride on Saturday
It was a stamina building workout you don't say
It included three rounds of zone 4 and zone 3
Followed by an off the bike run you see!
This was on PBun's warm up walk with Riley!

KBun saw one of Team Rabbit's mascot friends
A live bunny sighting is always a good omen!

The next morning, STUR really had a hankering for some hills…
She headed to Prince William Forest Park where she could get her fill.
STUR on the loop! Was she smiling because she would get a Slurpee later?

Around the scenic drive she did two loops-
And it was “no admission to the park” day- whoop!
PBun did a run right from her house
Headed over to Lake Accotink without a doubt
It's always fun to run under the Beltway!

It was mostly done on the neighborhood streets
But the turnaround at the park made it pretty sweet
PBun is happy this park is within running distance from her house!

Did not see any exciting wildlife
But saw the lake and the view was nice
Lake Accotink, looking lovely!

Stumbled upon an outdoor volley ball court
Over by the hidden bathroom she can report!
Volleyball anyone?

The Beast and Morgan rode Hains Point for 32 miles
Afterwards they stopped at 7-Eleven for Slurpees - all smiles!
Slurpees are always a good idea!
STUR might have also gotten one...
The ended up with 6 laps around the loop trail
Not too many - didn’t want to go off the rails!
On both days PBun did a little bit of yard beautification
She is hoping that one project helps with the erosion!
Pond pebbles for the win!

She is trying to entice the hummingbirds
But will probably get more squirrels – little turds!

Happy Easter from Team Rabbit!

Ten Indian Marsh Rap

Saturday morning STUR and Lazlo got up and out-
Going to Fort Hunt Park? Without a doubt!
It was a bit drizzly and wet -
Did they still get in 4 miles? You bet!!
Laz loves the trail!

Headed over next to get in a CrossFit workout -
Partner WOD with dumbbell moves? Let's give a shout!
Ended with a “cool down” wearing a weighted vest -
A 1200 meter run in it was quite the test!
Now the sun is out so back to the park with the Laz-
Lots of exercise helps him to not be such the spaz!
In the end the pair did a distance of 10K -
When they got home he was too tired to play!
Virginia is for Lovers!

Early that rainy morning PBun headed down South on I-95
To Richmond VA for another Monument Ave 10K no jive
Her arrival and parking was as smooth as can be
And just two blocks from the race staging area you see
Spotted the Wienermobile on the way to the start!

Saw an old Z mate before the start which was sweet
And chatted with a rabbit inspired runner named Jennifer – neat!
Rabbit gathering?!

While they hung out in corral SB it did not pour
Their start time would be right at 9:04!
There's the SB corral forming!

Jennifer told her about a fun costumed duo
Dr. Ian Malcom and T-Rex don’t you know?
The wave got going and to PBun’s surprise
She spotted the pair off to the right!
Gotta love a T-Rex selfie! But this was hilariuos!
He is RUNNING WITH A FLARE!!!
PBun is also a huge Jurassic Park fan!

Ran up and asked to get a selfie with the dino and man
The costumes were fantastic to this Jurassic Park fan!
Also spotted a couple of peacock ladies
Local running friend Tina and an old coworker Stacie!
Always fun to find friends during a race!

PBun has run this race 7 years straight.
The last three finisher medals combined to make a mega medal!

After she met up with a high school friend Cat-Tay
Lunch with her and her husband before she went on her way
Cat-Tay's cat, Master Em, living the life!

KBun and BLUR met up at the Indian Head Rail Trail
Would you believe KBun rode 104 miles without fail?
The riders had happy smiles when they were finished
But the question is, were they famished?
They did it!

Sunday morning 11 miles of running was STUR’s goal-
Coolish drizzly day on the Mount Vernon Trail - she was sold!
Went toward old town and the WW bridge first-
Knowing she was going back toward her car gave her a burst!
Add caption

A little jog going the other way got it done-
All those miles and not one peek of sun!
Grabbed her dog back at the homestead-
Out for just 3 miles the two of them fled!
STUR will call it 14 miles in the bank for Rock the Ridge-
Will she may undertrained? Perhaps just a smidge.
Sunday before the crack, PBun headed on her way
Going to get KBun for some cycling fun – yay!
Headed East across the William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge
Such an early start gave them a traffic advantage!
Cruised on over to the Ironman Maryland venue
To the special needs area if you want the truth
K & P Bun, ready to roll!

The plan was to do one lap of the main loop
They got it done with little stoppage – that is the scoop
Oh crap! This was one place they stopped!

In the road they saw four turtles and two snakes...
PBun finally spotted a bald eagle for goodness’ sake!
Next up for both was a nice brick run
Underneath the now warm sun
PBun only ran for 40 minutes
KBun went a total of 5 miles – woo whee!
Smiling because their post-ride brick runs are complete!

KBun rocking her new kit!
CBun ran 25 miles out at the Mohonk Preserve -
Although it was hilly the views were truly superb!
Skytop Tower at Mohonk Preserve!

The Swim Good beer was a good thing
Helped to restore the carbs - you think?
This beer went down swimmingly!

Very Cherry Rap

Saturday PBun hopped on the trainer
Two and a half hours seemed like a no brainer
Beautiful day to be outside!

Then Stilt rolled into town
Cherry Blossom packet pick up was going down
Race expos are always exciting!!

Thanks for having us, National Building Museum!

There and back by Metro was pretty much a breeze
Even changing trains was easy you see
Welcome (back) to Virginia!

Would you believe KBun did SIX spin classes in a row!!!!
She is getting ready Ironman Texas, don't you know?
BLUR also got in a bike ride...
She was lucky -- it was outside!
BLUR crushed her 1000 yards at the Colonies Zone meet
Took nearly a minute of her previous time - which is pretty sweet!
Meanwhile, MRab completed in the 1650
He earned some bling, which is pretty nifty!
CBun successfully attempted her first 200 IM
She is happy with her time and would likely do it again!
Sunday morning, PBun and Stilt headed over to STUR's
It was early and there was very little traffic you can be sure
Before sunrise the group took a small "bib collecting"detour -
Were they on time to the race? Chauffeur Tim made sure!
All race bibs present and accounted for!
Thanks, Tim the JRab!

Before they got started they met up with KBun
Everyone was excited to run
Rabbits are ready to run!

Started off in the purple wave
See you at the finish after the race
Let's get ready to rumble!!

STUR thinks she started off her race way too fast-‘
She was right- that pace certainly didn’t last.
After the Watergate hill PBun chatted with Leanne
Then a quick selfie with the Colonial man
You can't really see the wig in this picture!
And his shirt was pretty patriotic as well.

PBun and STUR shared a high five after the four mile turn around-
Smiles and cheers for the ears did abound!
Quick selfie with the other bunny lady
Hers ears could have been for Easter - maybe?
Well you know how rabbits multiply...

Near mile five there was a strange scent in the air
What could it be? Runners beware!!!
Heard Living on a Prayer at mile 5.47
Over halfway there, PBun was in heaven
The cherry blossom views were spectacular this year!

Took a Clif Block at mile 6.6
A couple minutes later it gave her a kick!
Passed the drumming group along Ohio Drive...
Tried to get a video of them playing but no dice!
These drum ladies are always fantastic!

Free Beer stop during Hawaii 5-0
Only two and a half miles to go!
Free beer? Well why not!

She saw Stilt just after mile 8
Getting to see her was great!
STUR finished and found KBun almost immediately -
Had planned to meet by the medical tent previously!
Rabbits reunited!

Amazingly BLUR found them in the same locale -
She was there to boost the rabbits' morale!
Everyone present and accounted for. Thanks for supporting, BLUR!

KBun's friend ran her first CB10, too
She was happy she could see it through
Way to go, D!

Stilt's friend Marcy and daughter Dakotah came to cheer
But afterwards, Dakotah had to disappear!
Dakotah and Marcy made it!

A post race shot of the U.S. Capitol!

Going in opposite directions they took the metro
But the rabbit group may have goofed up a bit - uh oh!
Changed trains to go back where they were
So that they could get back to STUR's!
Caught up with Dakotah at the station where they started
Then a change at L'Enfant Plaza it wasn't long before they departed
Shadow selfies are always a good idea!

Afterwards some of the crew went for breakfast - it wasn’t on the down low-
Would have been great if the service wasn’t so slow...
Meanwhile, the Beast is over in the land of Hawaii...
THE swim venue!

For work and to do a 2000 meter race with fins you see!
Swim bling!
She scored some bling and went on her way-
Saint Francis School
Touring the island and with Mike she will play!
Ready? Let's go!

Look at this cute face!
