Rabbit-isms!

There's always room for another race!
That's a horrible idea... What time?!

Tire Line Rap

Friday night PBun went to a party at her pool
And even did a little line dancing which was cool
The keg was on ice!
The Electric Slide, Kokomo, and two more
She's looking forward to the next gathering, that's for sure!
Party people!
Saturday morning PBun had another brick on tap
It was a recovery week so it was short n sweet at that
Just keep spinning, just keep spinning...
An hour 15 of bike threshold intervals
Followed by a 20 minute run, that's all
On Saturday morning STUR thought Reston was the place to be-
For an early morning swim practice you see!
Jumped in and got in a nice looong swim-
Then she had to head over to the CrossFit gym!
Another partner workout extravaganza-
With running, kettlebell swings, and assault bike it was a cardio bonanza!
Afterwards words STUR and friends worked on some extracurricular skills-
They were glad this doesn’t pay the bills
They flipped some tires and practiced going upside down-
STUR found it somewhat scary but she didn’t frown!
In the afternoon PBun did a few things in her yard out back
Hanging some more festive lights is certainly not whack!
Solar rice lights are the most fun!

Riley enjoyed hanging out there too
Smiling as always - that's the truth!
Smiley Riley!
CBun and HRab did a little hiking
The Tuscarora Overlook had no bears that were frightening
CBun and HRab, ready for their hike!

Which way did they go?

Bear or No bear? That is the question!

All in all, Saturday was a good Rabbit day
Because those bunnies got out to play!
Sunday morning STUR picked up the Beast-
Happy to be swimming in 50 meters to say the least!
OKM is a great place to swim!
Next they had a hankering for some food-
After a meeting with Lazlo they were in the mood.
And of course nothing could be finer-
Than to eat brunch at Bob and Edith’s diner!
Waiting to order at Bob & Edith's Diner!

Sunday morning PBun had a shorter long run
Also with threshold repeats of a shorter duration
Deerlick Park is a great place to do threshold repeats!
Afterwards she met NanWa at the movies
Seeing Aladdin kept them singing – how groovy
As per the usual they finished up with coffee
Followed by a quick trip to CVS, you see!
CVS Selfie!
BLUR continued her training for next month’s aquabike-
A spin in Rock Creek and a swim if you like!
If this not enough, MRab got crazy with a new license plate:
Only a triathlete could figure this out!

Turns out he is crazier because he ran and biked all night to keep the pace!
MRab is a total bad @$$!!

80 to 802 Rap

On Friday morning STUR met BLUR at Reagan National DCA...
They were headed to Vermont to race and play!
The Rabbits are ready to roll!
Or perhaps fly!

Andy picked them up and they went to Montpelier to pick up Jeff-
Headed up to the Northeast Kingdom - they were all set!
All checked in!
(This is much nicer than there last cabin!)

Got all checked in at the cute and quaint Jackson’s Lodge-
A little bit of spitting rain they had to dodge.

After scooting off to get.their numbers at the race site-
They were certainly motivated to find a place for a bite.
Rabbits and company, ready to run!

Pizza, pasta , and fish was consumed at a place called the “Spa”-
Then back to our quiet and dark “Beaver” cabin- ahhhh!
These cabins were so cute!

Saturday morning, PBun started off on the bike kind of early
Just 2 hours in the saddle – no need to be surly!
PBun's bike workout!

Carmen and Diego looked up every time PBun would freewheel!

After that part of her workout was done
She headed out for a 20 minute brick run
Race day is here! Race day is here!
The 802 rabbits weren’t too sure what kind of weather would appear.
Turned out to be a perfect rain free day-
With mostly a nice cloud cover - hey hey hey!
Appreciating the scenery!
(Dammit!)

The race course was rolling terrain with an out and back-
So many water stops the organizers weren’t slack!
BLUR finished her 5k beautifully and was a happy bunny-
She got her medal and a massage and it became warm and sunny.
Way to go, BLUR!

Meanwhile the other three were still out getting it done-
STUR got to wave hello to Andy and Jeff - that was fun!
One covered bridge is all they would encounter-
Lots of course marshals- you couldn’t get lost for sure!
THE bridge!

STUR was nearing the end and she was happy-
Looked behind and saw a race walker - that got her going snappy snappy!
The rest of the gang was finished and waiting -
She got her medal and a snack without hesitating.
Happy finishers!

Cleaned up and they were all ready for a trip across the border-
A visit to a gorge and a swinging pedestrian bridge was in order!
Crossing this bridge was the most fun!

Hiked around and climbed 120 steps to the top of a tower-
Even after racing that very day they had the power!
Hellooooo down there!

Dinner was great but afterwards was the best treat of all-
Ice cream cones or cups dipped in luxurious chocolate- what a ball!
I scream, you scream...now we all want ice cream!

The group was tired and headed back to the US of A for the night-
Could sleep in the next day- out of sight!
The Beast and MRab were busy over at General Smallwood State Park
You know they were not there on a lark!
General Smallwood Bling!

The Beast killed all the competition in the Sprint Aquabike
While MRab got on podium again in the Olympic Tri - all right!
In the afternoon PBun headed out to a celebration
Her Aunt Shirley was turning 80 and lots of folks were there – no hesitation
PBun with the birthday 'girl'!!

They had a rocking DJ spinning some tunes
Aunt Shirley was truly touched and over the moon!
There was lots of fun and dancing was to be had
PBun tried her hand at swing with cousin Bruce and wasn’t too bad!
Next morning in the 802 they enjoyed a special Father’s Day buffet-
So much yummy food they could have stayed all day!
On their way back to the Capitol city they made a special stop:
Dog Mountain had a pet chapel and a pet gallery where you can shop.
What a beautiful pet chapel.

An artist named Stephen Huneck once made this his home-beautiful place-
Lots of pictures and tributes to dogs who had moved on in this space.
This place is so touching and sweet.

Awwwww!

STUR and BLUR took a moment down by a pond-
For their sweeties Aidan and Tessie who have also moved on:
Back in town time for a walking tour of the local sights-
Pet stores and bike shops are always alright!
One last lovely dinner with the rabbits' wonderful hosts...
They loved relaxing and racing in the Green Mountain State the most!!!
Meanwhile PBun was off on her long run
She had 3x 6 minutes of intervals at threshold to get done
Ran over to Deerlick Park to do this deed
And did loops around the path hidden in the trees
PBun is happy those threshold repeats are over!

Afterwards she did some outdoor decorating at home
Then headed to her pool to do a recovery swim, don’t you know?
PBun loves her new swim towel!

Then it was time to head to her cousins for more family festivities
She and the Goodmanator were happy to see everyone you see
It was nice to have so many folks gather for her aunt’s big 80
They came from near and far and did so with glee!
Back at home she put finishing touches on her patio lights
Riley was happy to be outside - she was smiling with delight!
Smiley Riley and patio star lights!

WOD Dam Bay Rap

Friday night PBun headed with the Goodmanator to Acme, P-A
She would run and play with some kitties while he rode a quad – no way?
She and Stilt ran up a dam hill but not through old tunnels
Another dam hill!

Freaky old train tunnel!

Cool bridges!
They ran across the stone one!

While hurdling snakes kept things from being dull!
PBun wasn't sure who was more scared - her or the snake!
The four little kittens were ridiculously cute!
This is Meowser - who will soon be added to PBun's crew!

And Riley got to meet them and see her mom and dad, too!
Dog Family Reunion!
Riley~Izzy~Blaze

On Saturday BLUR drove 80 miles to Arrowhead Lake in Luray-
It’s a nice lake so worth going so far away!
Lake Arrowhead looks like an arrowhead!

In her wetsuit she got in a solid hour open water swim
To say she’d go back is not going out on a limb!
Way to get it done, BLUR!

Saturday morning STUR headed over to Reston town-
Lake Thoreau Pool is where the Reston Masters can be found!
STUR getting her first weekend swim on!

STUR jumped into a lane and started swimming away -
CBun and HRab also came to swim and play.
STUR was excited to wish CBun the best of luck -
For the next day she will be “embracing the suck!”
The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim weekend is finally here…
CBun and MRab will have a great experience never fear!
Happy modified bay swim swimmers!

But after getting her swim done, STUR had to fly -
Off to the CrossFit box so she said goodbye!
The partner WOD was certainly a doozy -
So much running and man makers made her feel woozy!
On Sunday at Old Keene Mill Pool the rain stayed away -
But then got rained on a bit after when she ran a 10K!
STUR getting her second weekend swim on!

Sunday CBun got to play in the Chesapeake Bay
Not quite the 4.4 mile swim crossing on this day...
The water doesn't look too rough here, but was pretty choppy and rolling out there!

Due to the small craft advisory the race got a bit changed up -
It wasn’t cancelled out right, but changed to two loops sure enough!
She still got to go at least two miles...
And finished things off with a smile!
CBun did it!!! Yeah!

McDonnell Murph Midway Rap

On Saturday, CBun and HRab headed up to Fort Ritchie
There was a swim fest going down you see!
What a lovely lake!

Swim 750, 1550, 2250 or all three
That is what CBun did  - woo wee!
HRab was happy to complete the 750 meters
It was his first lake swim in many ages!
CBun and HRab - swim fest success!

So how many rabbits does it take to do a swim in a lake?
Five is apparently the number that it will take!
Most of the Rabbits, ready to swim!

Sunday the Jim McDonnell Swim was on a lovely and sunny day -
With a water temp of 76 degrees - you really don’t say?!!
All five rabbits participated in the swim of one mile -
Each and everyone came out with a smile!
HRab also got on his wetsuit and joined in on the fun!
He powered around all those buoys and got it done!
The two mile swim came up in a flash
Time for four of the rabbits to compete - splash!
After they all did two laps of Lake Audubon -
Headed to the food and drinks before they're all gone!
CBun got a PR in both events!!!!
Go Team Rabbit!! Way to represent!!
For both the Beast was a strong second place-
One and two mile non-wetsuit in this case.
For the one mile STUR got a bronze medal -
Every time Team Rabbit is on the podium is special!
Memorial Day brings a special CrossFit tradition-
Getting Murph done would be STUR’s mission!
Ready for Murph!

She won’t say she “sandbagged” her first mile run but she went a bit slower/
And it worked, because her second mile run time was much lower!
Really fun cookout after with some yummy treats -
After all that work they were all ready to eat!!
STUR is excited to get started!

Way to GO, CrossFit Kingstown!

Meanwhile, PBun headed out to the West coast
Is visiting her Godchild fun? Yes, it is the most!
Did a lot of fun activities throughout the week
Even got in three run workouts which was neat

A scavenger hunt in Balboa Park and an escape room with a Western theme
They solved a cypher!
This reminded PBun of the movie, National Treasure!

This was really at Old Town Sand Diego, but fit here!

Saw Fiddler on the Roof and hiked to the top of Cowles Mountain again
Taking a rest...

Checking out the switch backs going up Cowles Mountain!
(Not quite like the switchbacks of Etlan Road!)

Took a trolley ride which included a couple of random things
Cool pedestrian bridge on the UCSD campus!

PBun attempted to play Great Balls of Fire!

And visited Universal Studios Hollywood and the USS Midway Museum!
Happy to be at Universal Studios!

Harry Potter world is wonderful!

Scenes from the USS Midway!

Returned home very early Saturday for a lazy kind of day
Then saw POMS followed by coffee with NanWa on Sunday!
Forgot the pic in front of the movie sign so the mall will do!

Coffee is always a good idea!

Saturday morning STUR figured it was time to train a bit for her upcoming tri -
As she hadn’t been on her bike since last September - oh my!!
BLUR met up with her at a very familiar place -
At Fort Hunt Park to ride their bikes at a reasonable pace.
BLUR has mastered the art of clipping in!
She did it for all 10 loops - that’s such a WIN!
STUR and BLUR got their bike on!

Sunday morning brought another kind of first for the year:
Time to swim outside at Old Keene Mill ya hear?
Always an adjustment for the 50 meter length -
Swan 90 minutes and feels like it takes more strength!
STUR with Better from L4!
