Rabbit-isms!

There's always room for another race!
That's a horrible idea... What time?!

Calm and Cobble Rap

Here is STUR's pretty calm weekend in review:
Started off with a Friday WOD it's true!
Felt her core muscles all through the weekend days…
Even a run on Saturday morning couldn't keep it at bay!
Met the Beast for a "quick" tempo hour trot;
She did 6.37 miles in one shot.
Then headed over to the Barrack's Row Fall Festival
The amount of people she talked to about Atlas Gym was plentiful.
Sunday was a complete day of rest.
Walking the dog and watching football is what she did best!
Ready to Conquer the Cobbles!
Friday night STEB attempted with RBug to Conquer the Cobbles
But those crazy stone streets nearly made her hobble!
Cyclists on the Cobbles!
(Found on search, here.)

Lovely view of the Cobbles!
(Found on same search, here.)

She went down on Candy and had to walk up it
But she finished the ride - didn't have a fit!
Cobbles Success!
Before the ride she and RBug were interviewed by a reporter
Fun to see their names in an article, the morning after!
Ran into Jeff a Z-mate before and after the ride
He is with Sports Backers - several of their events she has tried!
Nice to see a familiar face at the Cobbles!
Saturday afternoon she did her long run
At Wakefield and Lake Accotink with RBug - it was fun!
Sunday afternoon her friend NanWa arrived…
With her husband David and it was kitchen tile time!
Three cheers for a new backlsplash!

Almost all the work was completed and the kitchen looks great.
Thanks for great friends and the dinner that then was late!
CBun's been busy with the Popepalooza...
From DC to Philly - boy was she busy!
WuDoc spent part of the weekend prepping for yet another test…
But getting ready for IMMD took up the rest!

Paw Paw Palooza Rap

Early Saturday morning Team Rabbit began an epic road trip -
For all their activities they were equipped.
Good N Plenty? Check!
It was a beautiful morning as they headed to their destination
Had so much stuff it felt like they were going on vacation!
Approaching Hancock!

The road to Little Orleans gave one of the rabbits a bit of fit -
She thought it might actually induce a little vomit!
Once at Little Orleans; STUR and CBun headed out on their trek
CBun and STUR are ready to roll!
Before STUR knew it - she had done 8 miles - check!
Trail was so quiet but soon she saw some smoke?
It was just a campground - it's all okay folks!
Tried to get water from an interesting pump…
Apparently the water is interesting, too!

Couldn't get it to work so back on the trail she did jump!
Luckily about mile 10 CBun gave her some H2O,
Since 5 more miles without water would really blow!
Soon enough she saw a Paw Paw Tunnel sign -
She could take a little rest - so divine!
Around the corner she heard a ‘whoop whoop’!!
It was CBun! Soon they would be connected with the whole bunny group!
But WuDoc and STEB were nowhere to be found…
So near the tunnel entrance they did hang around.
Waiting on WuDoc and STEB to arrive...

Talked to some peeps on bikes and took pictures by the rock wall
And of course took some selfies, don't you know y'all?!
This tunnel looks scary!

After dropping the others STEB and WuDoc headed back south about 17 miles
To Hancock where they had plans for biking and running a little while
Back to Hancock!
Turns out STEB’s MTB had a little flat
C&O Bicycle opens early - how about that?
CBun had done an Internet search for a place
And behind the building was plenty of NHP parking space
There STEB  got in a little five mile run
While WUDoc rode her bike and they both had fun
First STEB went out and back north -  kind of boring
But the out and back south had lots of cool things!
Flood Mark - March 18, 1936!
Scenery and bridges and other canal stuff
This is the Tonoloway Aqueduct!
What IS an acqueduct?
After the run she biked it - not too rough
Met up with WUDoc so they could regroup with the others
Then the sidetrack directions had her in a druthers!
See, after WuDoc and STEB were done with part one,
Turns out waiting behind a parade isn't any fun!
Waiting on the "End of Summer" parade to pass!
Met a nice officer who came to their rescue -
Told them of a bypass to get them back on cue!
WuDoc and STEB were really quite delayed
They had to drive on a road that wasn't even paved.
Hadn't read a paper map in many years -
Not finding the other rabbits was one of their fears.
However the C&O Canal map was a blessing
They finally arrived at their location without any backtracking!

Just 1KM to go!
What? Still over a half-mile walk to get there?
WuDoc and STEB started - with a little prayer.
Since they were so late they decided to go through
Instead of up and over like they’d planned to do!
The Paw Paw Tunnel wasn't as bad as STEB feared
The light at the end made the tunnel end seem near!
There's light at the end!
It was fun to walk along in the dark with the WUDoc
Tunnel Selfies!
And guess what? They met up with CBun and STUR among the rock

Finally in the Paw Paw Tunnel the rabbits met
Was it 3,118 feet long? You bet!

They finally meet!
It was crazy to have been out of touch
There was no cell service - no such luck!
STUR and CBun were a little worried its true…
Lots of scenarios went through their minds - what to do?
Tunnel Survey - 2002!
Were the rabbits happy when they met in the middle
Of that Paw Paw Tunnel? Just a little!
STUR was probably the most scared in the tunnel of all the rabbits -
Glad she did it but won't make it a rabbit habit!!
All rabbits made it out of the tunnel safely!
Once back at the car, they sent CBun on her way…
The rest of the rabbits had a little time to play.
CBun had about 11 more miles yet to run
They would re-group again that afternoon and have some fun!
The three then made an unfortunate lunchtime decision -
McDonald's was mediocre even though it serves millions.
Explored a bit of Cumberland after that meal
Looked for antique shops and maybe a deal
No shops could be found so they checked out Canal Place
And someone got a train whistle in the marketplace!
Headed back to the Paw Paw Tunnel lot to meet up with CBun
Went out to meet and surprise her at the end of her run
Seemed that they might have been in hostel territory
Waiting in hostel territory...
Give the rabbits a minute to tell you the story...
That when they learned what's wrong with this nation –
From a real creepy dude with a weird explanation.
They were informed you can't go 5 minutes without a large water bottle -
"Never mind" he said, “you're women,” and his neck they wanted to throttle.
Here comes CBun!
CBun finished and there was lots of cheering
And the nice Boy Scout bicycle guides joined in with the singing
The happy group of rabbits hopped in the car
Headed back to Hancock a different way – it was not as far!
Got cleaned up and played a little ukulele
Then opted for pizza and salads at The Hut and it was yummy!
Then they went for supplies at Sheetz…
That place was hopping but they found some treats!
The rabbits were tired and the next stop was sleep
Hopefully the next day they would not meet up with any creeps!
Another beautiful morning!
STEB enjoyed riding along STUR on a bike -
The scenery and cooler temps were out of sight!
STUR was very appreciative of this bike escort;
Kept her very motivated she is happy to report!
Ready to rock and roll!

For STUR, three 5ks was her plan for the day -
After 15 miles the day before?! No way!
First one went off like a breeze -
Even had time to admire the trees!
Next one she felt was a bit more work...
But STEB's iPhone music gave her a spark!
Well....  except on one song she had to send STEB away:
No more, "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" - OKAY!??
Finished up the third one as best she could;
Pace slowed down but it's all good!
WuDoc went out for 10 on day two...
WuDoc heading out!

After 30 on Jezebel the day before it seemed like the thing to do!
After the runs on Sunday the rabbits had about an hour
They had time to go back to the Super 8 and take a shower!
Day 2 - Success!
It was a fun weekend for these rabbit pals;
Western Maryland is beautiful along the C&O Canal!
On the way home they stopped in Frederick - they were famished
After brunch shenanigans thankfully by the end they weren't banished!
Although it was more like noon...
STEB's car looked a bit like an endurance explosion
But in the end they got it done!
Only half of the explosion!

Reston Tri and Cherpa Rap

For STUR her Saturday run didn't start too early-
Since it wouldn't be too humid -surely!
Well humid it was and just a bit rainy...
Didn't bother her or the Beast - they aren't dainty!
Ran first toward the bridge and into Old Town -
That's where these selfie takers could be found!
STUR and The Beast!
Had some challenges trying to dodge some people on bikes...Not following the rules of the trail- yikes!
Back at the cars the Beast said goodbye;
STUR had another hour to run - she didn't ask why.
This time toward George Washington's house -
Ended up with 10.45 miles or thereabouts!
Woke up early on Sunday and she knew it was time-
To watch her friend STEB really shine!
For STEB's A race the Reston Triathlon was going on today-
RBud came early to help cherpa- no way!?
Headed out in the dark to South Lakes High School...
Helped STEB find her T2 place and that was cool!
Got STEB in her wetsuit then she and RBud headed over to the grass;
Saw STEB transition to the bike - after a swim that was kick @$$!
STEB starting the bike...

Met a family of seven cheering for their dad -
Were they excited when they saw him on the bike? Just a tad...
Saw STEB whizzing by after loop one -
Walked back to the school and found a place in the sun!
Here comes STEB ready for T2 -
It seemed to them that she really flew!
STEB finishing the bike!

Next stop they found a place in the football stands -
It was fun to give all the finishers a clap of the hands!
One of the finishers had completed THIRTY Reston Tris -
Everyone was giving him a high five!
Look at this - bunny ears coming up the hill?
Coming onto the track will certainly be a thrill!
STEB crossed the finish line looking particularly strong -
STEB  to the finish!

They'd see her soon with a finisher's hat it wouldn't be long!
Fun times to be a cherpa on a perfect weather day -
For STEB's A race, STUR gives her an "A!"

Saturday morning STEB got to sleep in
That's a good thing because later that night the Z's were pretty thin!
After a leisurely morning with a cup of coffee
As she began her pre-race brick - it was rainy!
Finished that up before the hard stuff fell
Then scooted off to packet pick up. The swag was swell!
Reston Tri swag Rocks!

Back at home for the Auburn game
They won but it was stressful and a bit insane!
Spent most of the day off her feet
But as noted above that night she couldn't sleep!
After about four hours, got up before the crack
Ready for her cherpas - STUR and RBud - their enthusiasm didn't lack!
Riley was super excited to see those gals
But didn't bring her with us she stayed with her kitty pals!
Arrived at T2 first to drop the car and run stuff...
Good spot in transition - and then they were off!
About a 1.5 mile walk to T1 and the start.
Got body marked - age on the legs twice? Why not!
Racked the bike and sorted the gear out
Goggles, cap, and wetsuit are needed first, no doubt
Then ran into some Team Z friends
Said goodbyes, a group selfie with Bobby, then chatted with Jen!
The National Anthem was actually pretty special -
Pavel Pekarsky - on electric violin - he plays with the NSO!
Remembered to count the rows (it was 6) where Trixie was racked
So after the swim she didn't run around all whacked!
STEB started the swim with wave number five
And right after the start she got kicked in the eye!
Got into a good groove after the first turn or so.
Felt like she swam straight and sighted well, don't you know?
Finally she swam around the big drain
Headed back to the slippery boat ramp - but it wasn't a pain
She had a bit of trouble in T1
Couldn't get the wetsuit off one foot - what a pill, it wasn't fun!
Finally grabbed Trixie and they got going
Saw the cherpas at the bike start and they were cheering!
The course is not quite three full loops
STEB had done two a few weekends before; she knew the scoop!
Got warmed up after a few miles
Enjoyed the ride and seeing her friends made her smile
Finally time to turn in to T2...
There she had a hard time spotting her run shoes!
She made it out in pretty good time...
And running with bunny ears isn't a crime!
The run was a tough little two leg out and back
The bunny love by supporters and athletes was not slack!
Finally made to the final hill near the finish line -
Wanted to walk again but bunny cheers were divine!
She ran and walked till she made it onto the track
Then actually picked up speed - no time to be laid back!
Saw the cherpas as she was crossing the line
And the post-race pizza tasted mighty fine!
There was also a pretty fun post race treat:
Bunny Snacks - perfect for a rabbit! How neat!
Annie's Bunny Treats are AUsome!

The Reston Triathlon has been around for 32 years!!
The organizers do a great job and deserve lots of cheers!
Thanks, STUR and RBud!
Meanwhile, CBun went on a spectacular long run...
She is ready for the C&O Canal Towpathpalooza - it'll be fun!
WuDoc was out there, on a long ride...
She takes this Ironman prep workouts in stride!

Labor Day Rap

STEB's Saturday plans were a little derailed
The 9-1-1 call activities is kind of what caused the fail.
So after she finally got some sleep
She did a trainer ride inside instead of out in the heat
After, a reverse pyramid of air squats and push ups
Since it was a little too late to go to the box
STUR definitely started her weekend off right-
Meeting the Beast at Ft. Hunt on Saturday was out of sight!
Enjoyed a 90 minute run with varying speeds-
And it went very quickly indeed!
Next was a Slurpee run for her and the hubby -
Then a nap on the couch where she got all cuddly.
Met CBun and STEB for "A Walk in the Woods,"
All 3 rabbits agreed it was very good!
Then a late night dinner at the Silver Diner -
Now off to bed for an early start - don't be a whiner!
After STEB’s nice little afternoon snooze it was time
She met her rabbit friends to see the movie where the seats recline!
The movie was interesting and definitely funny
Perfect activity to relax with her other bunnies
Before Sunday swim STUR did her CrossFit 'home' work -
Thrusters, planks, and push-ups but no clean and jerk.
Goodbye outdoor pool - see ya next year...
Swimming inside is her fate now she fears.
Next STUR did a church community project that involved cabbage?
Yep! Sorted and bagged heads - the good ones they would salvage.
Monday will include no work but some time on the track -
And no she will NOT be getting up at the crack!
Sunday morning STEB was up early  - well before the crack
A big group met for the monument run - so company did not lack

Starting our run in the dark!
At one point STEB was attacked by mosquitoes
She's really itching now - it really blows.
Later that day her friend NanWa came over to lend a hand...
They started the kitchen tile project and it's looking grand!

STEB is finally starting the new backsplash! Thanks NanWa!
Sunday night was a really big deal.
Was it Fantasy Football Draft night? Yes - for real!
She met with two other 'team owners' and it was lots of fun
Now STEB cannot wait for week number 1!

Three members of the #WeHeartTightEnds Fantasy Football League!
Monday morning brought an actual CrossFit workout.
It was tough but STEB knocked it out!
After she went on an easy MTB...
With RBug and Tyler at Burke Lake you see!

An easy 9 #MTB? Check!
On Monday STUR’s speed work ended up going very well -
That's all  the laboring she did - can't you tell?
The workout was a fun mix of 100's, 200's and 400's -
The amount of sweat and humidity for her and the Beast was abundant!
Quick trip with BRab to CBun's for a broken dishwasher -
It wasn't fixed but CBun learned how to turn off her water!

The 9-1-1 Rap

Friday night STEB got woken up at 1:30 in the morning

Someone's dog was in her yard - and Riley gave warning!
Next a drunk girl was knocking at the door!!
Insisting she lived in STEB's house? Sure....
Exchanged a few 'words' when the girl tried to break down STEB's fence
Then after STEB released TWO dogs from out back - made no sense!
STEB thought they left but turns out not...
Next thing you know, STEB had to call the cops!
They started knocking at the door once more -
By now it's 2:30 in the morning - for sure.
Fairfax County's finest soon arrived -
Then took down all the details in stride
In a neighborhood two miles away is where she actually lives
She was with her friend 'the devil' - what gives?
Drunk in Public was the eventual charge
The girls got arrested so they're no longer 'at large'
Captain Morgan apparently was the one to blame
And poor Jagger her dog probably thinks this is all insane
Now it's 3:30 AM and STEB is wide awake
So why not write a rap for Heaven's sake!

"Drunk in Public"
