Going to Fort Hunt Park? Without a doubt!
It was a bit drizzly and wet -
Did they still get in 4 miles? You bet!!
Laz loves the trail! |
Headed over next to get in a CrossFit workout -
Partner WOD with dumbbell moves? Let's give a shout!
Ended with a “cool down” wearing a weighted vest -
A 1200 meter run in it was quite the test!
Now the sun is out so back to the park with the Laz-
Lots of exercise helps him to not be such the spaz!
In the end the pair did a distance of 10K -
When they got home he was too tired to play!
Virginia is for Lovers! |
Early that rainy morning PBun headed down South on I-95
To Richmond VA for another Monument Ave 10K no jive
Her arrival and parking was as smooth as can be
And just two blocks from the race staging area you see
Spotted the Wienermobile on the way to the start! |
Saw an old Z mate before the start which was sweet
And chatted with a rabbit inspired runner named Jennifer – neat!
Rabbit gathering?! |
While they hung out in corral SB it did not pour
Their start time would be right at 9:04!
There's the SB corral forming! |
Jennifer told her about a fun costumed duo
Dr. Ian Malcom and T-Rex don’t you know?
The wave got going and to PBun’s surprise
She spotted the pair off to the right!
Gotta love a T-Rex selfie! But this was hilariuos! He is RUNNING WITH A FLARE!!! PBun is also a huge Jurassic Park fan! |
Ran up and asked to get a selfie with the dino and man
The costumes were fantastic to this Jurassic Park fan!
Also spotted a couple of peacock ladies
Local running friend Tina and an old coworker Stacie!
Always fun to find friends during a race! |
PBun has run this race 7 years straight. The last three finisher medals combined to make a mega medal! |
After she met up with a high school friend Cat-Tay
Lunch with her and her husband before she went on her way
Cat-Tay's cat, Master Em, living the life! |
KBun and BLUR met up at the Indian Head Rail Trail
Would you believe KBun rode 104 miles without fail?
The riders had happy smiles when they were finished
But the question is, were they famished?
They did it! |
Sunday morning 11 miles of running was STUR’s goal-
Coolish drizzly day on the Mount Vernon Trail - she was sold!
Went toward old town and the WW bridge first-
Knowing she was going back toward her car gave her a burst!
Add caption |
A little jog going the other way got it done-
All those miles and not one peek of sun!
Grabbed her dog back at the homestead-
Out for just 3 miles the two of them fled!
STUR will call it 14 miles in the bank for Rock the Ridge-
Will she may undertrained? Perhaps just a smidge.
Sunday before the crack, PBun headed on her way
Going to get KBun for some cycling fun – yay!
Headed East across the William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge
Such an early start gave them a traffic advantage!
Cruised on over to the Ironman Maryland venue
To the special needs area if you want the truth
K & P Bun, ready to roll! |
The plan was to do one lap of the main loop
They got it done with little stoppage – that is the scoop
Oh crap! This was one place they stopped! |
In the road they saw four turtles and two snakes...
PBun finally spotted a bald eagle for goodness’ sake!
Next up for both was a nice brick run
Underneath the now warm sun
PBun only ran for 40 minutes
KBun went a total of 5 miles – woo whee!
Smiling because their post-ride brick runs are complete! |
KBun rocking her new kit! |
CBun ran 25 miles out at the Mohonk Preserve -
Although it was hilly the views were truly superb!Skytop Tower at Mohonk Preserve! |
The Swim Good beer was a good thing
Helped to restore the carbs - you think?
This beer went down swimmingly! |
