Because two hours of uke club can't be beat
Saturday morning STUR's house was the place to be -
A big group was headed to the Maryland Swim for Life you see!
As they rolled out it was beginning to get light -
Finally up and over the bay bridge - what a sight!
Fog on the water! |
Maybe some of the crew was still quite groggy?
Pre-swim hi-jinks! |
So many doggies around that were very cute!
Don't forget the jellyfish repellent -
There's a chance of sea nettles - get the hint?
The National Anthem was a group sing along -
It sounded really cool with the whole throng!
First up was the 5-miler wave...
Everyone thought they were very brave!
STUR was next up with the 4-mile swimmers -
It's a long way but nobody wears flippers!
For STUR the first 2 miles seriously flew by -
She was still excited for the turn around - not gonna lie.
After this the water felt so very warm -
And in the sky was an impending storm.
STUR swam as fast as possible but was starting to lose steam...
But here's the finishing bar - it's a dream!
WUD, Jodie, RBud, and the Beast cheered her in -
She was taking her time - it's not a sin.
Longest swim yet with her seasickness patch;
She didn't get sick so it's a perfect match!
CBun had a really strong 3-mile effort-
Would she ever give up on a swim? Never!
The Beast swam very hard for a 2-mile distance...
That's because she's swimming regularly and very consistent!
WUD breezed right through the 2.4 -
She'll be doing that on July 24th - score!
RBud and Jodie conquered the mile -
Both of them have a solid freestyle.
Next the crew enjoyed a veritable feast -
Nobody went hungry to say the least!
And in case you were wondering there were no jellyfish -
So for STUR that granted her wish!
Cheers to Slurpees! |
What would a race be without a Slurpee stop?
Into 7-Eleven the whole bunny crew did hop!
Slurpees ROCK! |
Saturday STEB started early but not as early as the others...
She was meeting RBug and biking would be their druthers!
STEB dusted off Trixie for the morning cruise
Seems it's been a year since she rode her so this is good news!
Trixie was happy to get out! |
Afterwards she had somewhat of a lazy day
Hanging out with pgoodz and watching the Nats play.
Sunday morning she did something for the first time:
The WaveOne Sunrise Harbor Swim and it went fine
RBud, STUR, and STEB were ready to roll! |
Except for the salad that she swam through
Feeling like the creature from the black lagoon, it's true!
After the harbor swim, STUR's final tally for the weekend was 6.3 -
Solid swimming weekend for her - WOO WHEE!!
And after the swim it was Slurpee time again
Always fun to do with a friend
