Rabbit-isms!

There's always room for another race!
That's a horrible idea... What time?!

Blue Rap

On Friday at the crack three rabbits met up at the airport: DCA
KBun, CBun, and STUR going to the Pistol Ultra to play
These rabbits are ready to roll!

While chatting away, over the loud speaker KBun heard her name...
These silly rabbits were not in the right place - what a shame!
They were supposed to be on a shuttle located downstairs-
They made it in time but goodness what a scare!
After making it to Alcoa-first things first-
Pancakes at IHOP to give them a burst!
They headed up to the Smokey Mountain range to Cade’s Cove-
On twisty curvy roads they did rove.
For CBun this happened to be a very special spot-
It’s where her grandparents decided to tie the knot!
KBun is happy to be in a new church!

Toured around and went to a cute church or two-
Really enjoyed the 11 mile drive through!
Next up was packet pick up at the Alcoa High School-
A cow was there to great us - very cool!
Cows are cool!

Udderly hilarious!

Briefly attended the pre race meeting-
But the rabbits were just thinking about eating!
All checked in and ready to run!

Headed to Olive Garden and beat the crowd
They needed to carb load for crying out loud!
Time for bed as they had a little race in the morn-
Soon bunny ears and running shoes they will adorn.
PBun was a little nervous to start the day
To start her powerlifting weekend she would need to be weighed
She needn't worry as she came in under by nearly a pound -
And is down a weight class from a year ago so no need to frown
Friday night was the strict curl event
Butt and back against the board before you begin
Friday night lifting buddies!

Don’t let them move away or the lift is no good
Two out of three -- she did what she could!
On Saturday morning, the running rabbits were up
Stoked to go for a run? No duh!
Being super close to the race site was such a win -
Arrived just in time for the race to begin!
STUR and CBun were the first to go in the 50k
KBUN had 5 minutes until she was on her way.
The course was on a beautiful winding greenway-
Plenty of opportunity to see all the runners - yay!
One loop was 10.33 miles exactly on the nose -
A very well organized race- it really shows!
STUR took it easy and stopped to pet EVERY dog she saw-
So much praise for the bunny ears- oh pshaw!
The aid stations were so much fun- rocking the Saint Patrick’s Day theme -
Chick-fil-A nuggets at one stop? It wasn’t a dream!
Tons and tons of people running out and back-
If you felt lonely ever that would really be whack!!
STUR was so happy to see CBun and KBun at regular intervals
"Bang, bang rabbit" was their cry, it was never dull!
STUR made it around all three loops -
She was pretty psyched - let's raise the roof!
CBun was waiting for her in the cafeteria -
She had gotten a PR - so superior!!!
They grabbed some yummy pizza and cupcakes-
They were super happy to take a break!
Pizza is always a good idea.
And cupcakes!

Showers and Chick-fil-A was the next mission:
As a post race food it is often a tradition.
But no time to waste as they had to head back to the race site -
KBun needed rabbit support running through the night.
Got there just in time to see her breeze by the 50 mile mark -
She looked strong and on the last loop she will now embark.
CBun and STUR drove out to a spot on the greenway
Could see her twice - you don’t say?!!!
They skedaddled back to the amazing finish line -
The DJ played such fun music - it was divine!
Here comes the pink bunny ears !!
Everyone there was giving KBun so many cheers!!
Here comes the KBun!

She did it! She did it! All 100KEH!!
And she got first in her age group! NO WAY!!!
What super-cool podium pistol bling!

Not much time to chat and recover -
They had to get up early for a flight- shudder!
Smooth traveling this time back home-
There’ll be just one more line for this part of the poem.
All three rabbits got their first race in Tennessee -
They all were successful, nobody was BLUE - whee!!!!!
Saturday morning was the powerlifting meet
Squat, bench press, the deadlift – she was ready to compete
PBun would actually lift on the BLUE platform
In heat two - would she be ready to perform?
There were four heats total, three of which were women
For only the second time ever for meet director more ladies then men!
Warm ups were in the barbell club room
Where the plates were in KG – which would spell doom!
Look! It's THE blue platform!
But...lifting KG plats is pretty bad @$$!

Barbell math is hard enough in pounds
For this, a KG to LB conversion chart could be found
PBun was in the group with Laura, Alex, and Julie Three of her PL teammates you see
PBun with her fellow #BeltlessBs

Should have taken a selfie with Barry who was there to get a rope
PBun and Laura had just been talking about him - no joke!
In the end, PBun went 3 for 3 on all three lifts
And achieved PRs across the board which was pretty slick
Watching all the competitors lift was pretty darned inspiring
Even when the bar crashed off the gray platform – oh my!
From ages 7 to 79 years young
Including a mother-son-grandmother group, son of a gun!
The Team recap of attempts was 103 of 111
This  is 93% successful – lots of PRs and lots of fun
The Tysons Powerlifting team rocks!

Sunday afternoon PBun finally met up with Nanette
Movie followed by coffee to celebrate her birthday, no sweat!
So great to finally catch up with NanWa!

Saw the 80th Anniversary of Gone With the Wind
Including the built in Intermission
Frankly, my dear, the intermission could have been a smidge longer!

Carmen and Diego celebrated Saint Catrick’s Day
Which was the day after their 6th birthday!
Playing with beads is the most fun!
